Student Shadows
We invite you to experience a day in the life of a West Michigan Aviation Academy student through a student shadow. On your shadow day, you will be paired with one of our student shadow ambassadors. You will attend classes, meet teachers and talk with other students while gaining firsthand experience of what WMAA has to offer.
PLEASE NOTE: Student shadows are available for all students accepted to WMAA for the 2024-25 school year. Additionally, shadows are available for students on the 9th grade waitlist 1-50 and the 10th grade waitlist 1-20. All other waitlist students are invited to reconnect with WMAA next fall to set up a visit in preparation for second semester enrollment and/or applying for 2025-26.
If you are interested in scheduling a student shadow, please fill out the Shadow Request Form below and we will contact you with available dates. Shadows are not available April 10, 11, 24 or after May 3, 2024.
Q&A
What time will I be at school?
- Student shadows are scheduled from 7:45 am – 1:20 pm during a WMAA school day.
Should I pack a lunch?
- You are welcome to bring your own lunch or enjoy free lunch from our cafeteria.
What should I wear?
- The WMAA student uniform is khaki bottoms with a blue school shirt. Students visiting our school may wear whatever they are comfortable in, but we request no denim.
What should I bring?
- You will want to bring a book to keep you occupied if there is a test in one of the classes. We recommend that you bring a notebook and pen as well.
