Try WMAA For Yourself

We invite you to experience a day in the life of a West Michigan Aviation Academy student through a Student Shadow. On your Shadow Day, you will be paired with one of our student shadow ambassadors. You will attend classes, meet teachers and talk with other students while gaining firsthand experience of what WMAA has to offer.

Please note that student shadows are currently closed for the 2021-2022 school year. We will be hosting student shadows again in late September 2022. We are eager to share our school with you next Fall.

What time will I be at school?

  • Student shadows are typically scheduled from 7:45 am – 1:30 pm. You should plan to arrive a few minutes early.

Should I pack a lunch?

  • You are welcome to bring your own lunch or enjoy free lunch from our cafeteria.

What should I wear?

  • The WMAA student uniform is khaki bottoms with a blue school shirt. Students visiting our school may wear whatever they are comfortable in, but we request no denim.

What should I bring?

  • You will want to bring a book to keep you occupied if there is a test in one of the classes. We recommend that you bring a notebook and pen as well.

What are your school COVID protocols?

  • As a public charter school in Kent County, West Michigan Aviation Academy follows the COVID protocols set by the Kent County Health Department. Please contact us a day or two before your Student Shadow if you have any questions about current protocols.
