Students and Families –

Welcome to West Michigan Aviation Academy (WMAA), where students embark on an academic journey filled with opportunities to reach new heights.

With a curriculum rich in aviation, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and robotics, WMAA offers students the ability to gain in-demand, real-world skills through hands-on learning, critical thinking, and innovation

WMAA also is one of a few select high schools in the country where you can earn a private pilot license as part of its high school curriculum. Located on the campus of Gerald R. Ford International Airport, our top-notch aviation facilities create an ideal training environment— in the hangar, on the runway, or in the sky.

And, because we’re a public charter high school, WMAA is a tuition-free academy that is open to everyone and dedicated to providing a safe and professional environment where character development, leadership, and academic excellence go hand-in-hand.

Our caring and passionate faculty foster a culture of curiosity, responsibility, and respect—challenging students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and engage meaningfully with their communities. We set high expectations and help our students meet them.

At WMAA, we believe in preparing students not just for graduation, but for life. Upon graduation, students leave equipped with the confidence and skills to succeed in a wide range of postsecondary paths.

Life is full of possibilities. I thank you for your interest in broadening your horizon at West Michigan Aviation Academy.
