Fillinger, Eric

Eric Fillinger Mr. Fillinger earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History from the College of Wooster in 2003. While there he completed a capstone thesis program on the role of the U.S. Air Force in the opening months of the Korean War. He later went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Education from Wright State University in 2006. His first teaching position was in Yukon, Oklahoma, where he taught World History and A.P. World History for six years. While there he helped found that schools RC flying club. He joined West Michigan Aviation Academy during the 2017-2018 school year.

As part of the Aviation Department, Mr. Fillinger has worked with all grade levels to broaden student’s understanding of the world of aviation. Mr. Fillinger also plays a large role in WMAA’s remote control flight community as the instructor for Introduction to RC Aviation, Unmanned Aerial Systems, and advisor to the school’s RC club. He is certified by the FAA as a Commercial Unmanned Pilot. Mr. Fillinger enjoys sharing his life long passion for aviation with his students.
