Flight Training

Students who possess the aeronautical aptitude, academic excellence, desire and maturity will earn access to professional flight training resources. These resources include: flight simulation in our Redbird flight simulator; our two Cessna 172 single engine training aircraft; and a highly trained and professional flight staff. The capstone opportunity for students seeking flight training while at WMAA is to earn their Private Pilot Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration. Flight Science track students are required to complete the Sophomore 10-week Introduction the Aviation Preflight Planning, Junior year Private Pilot Ground School class and pass the FAA Private Pilot Written Examination and 3rd Class Medical Certification. Upon completing these prerequisites, students may pursue flight training as seniors in the Private Pilot Flight class.
