Mrs. Cox graduated from Hope College in 2011. She graduated with a BA in Political Science and Women’s Studies and received honors in each department. While at Hope, she enjoyed the opportunity to study abroad in both Rwanda and Ghana where she was able to study, travel, and become immersed in each culture. She also lead a student housing initiative to promote sustainable and “green” living on campus.
In 2012, Mrs. Cox spent time in Kazakhstan teaching the English language to Russian-speaking students alongside her then fiance. Upon returning home after four months in Kazakhstan, she enrolled in the Graduate Teacher Certification at Grand Valley to attain her secondary teaching certification. In 2015, Mrs. Cox graduated with a degree in Social Studies and a minor in Political Science.
Along with her passion for teaching high school students, Mrs. Cox enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dog, traveling, camping, and spending quality time with her family.
This year, Mrs. Cox will be teaching World History and Human Geography. She looks forward to an exciting year at WMAA with both students and parents and is proud to be part of a great team!
