Abissi, Andrew

Andrew Abissi Mr. Abissi teaches robotics and engineering at WMAA. His passion for robotics and teaching brought him to the school and he works hard to share and inspire that passion in his students.

Mr. Abissi graduated from Central Michigan University with a BS in Math and Art Education and is pursuing a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Grand Valley. Before teaching for WMAA, Mr. Abissi taught Design and Construction Engineering for Grand Rapids Academy for Design and Construction for 6 years and coached middle school wrestling and track for 3 years.

Outside of school, Mr. Abissi teaches robotics for Cook Library and works as the director for GR Makers. For fun, Mr. Abissi likes to rock climb, lift weights, read, build robots, and make various machines. When he isn’t in school, you can usually find him tinkering in one of his workshops. He is thrilled to be a part of WMAA and is excited to teach our next generation of engineers!
